Liverpool FC Set To Meet Christian Benteke's Release Clause

Liverpool FC could meet Aston Villa’s release clause for key striker after the sale of Raheem Sterling

Liverpool boss, Brendan Rodgers have been monitoring the sensational goal poacher for quite a while now. Previously sending in a bid for the striker that got rejected by the club. However, Liverpool are willing to tempt Aston Villa again for the second time to lure the fantastic striker to Anfield.

However, Aston Villa look forward to the full price written in the striker’s contract and would not accept part payment. With Liverpool completing a record deal for an Englishman – which saw winger Raheem Sterling join the Etihad side on Tuesday for £49m, It is confident that the club can meet the full fees of £32m for the amazing 24 years old striker.

The Belgium international striker has become the number priority for Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers in this summer transfers. Villa  will fight to keep their man even though they know Liverpool can trigger the clause in the contract.

The 33 years old Rickie Lambert is a target for West Brom, but Brendan Rodgers will have to be patient not to let him go until he secures the signature of Christian Benteke. Ironically, Rickie Lambert snubbed a deal to join Villa in the January transfer window.

Christian Benteke has been in brilliant form for Aston Villa and undoubtedly one of the best strikers in the Premier League now. The arrival of the striker from Genk in 2012 has been one of a kind and really paid off as the player has netted 49 times in 99 appearances. With his recent move out of the Villa Park has attracted a number of premier league clubs if which Liverpool FC is favorite to land him.
