Mamadou Sakho’s Liverpool career is going nowhere, doesn’t take a lot of intelligence to figure that out as the Frenchman has hardly gotten on the team sheet this season with Ragnar Klavan, Dejan Lovren and others preferred ahead of him. However, Southampton seem to be coming to the French international’s rescue as in the coming days with heir own captain Jose Fonte set to depart the club and Sakho seems like a decent replacement.
The initial deal is thought to be a loan until the end of the season with an option to buy inserted in the contract, although that does depend on Jose Fonte’s transfer situation as well and if the Portuguese defender does not secure a transfer from Southampton it could mean that the deal for Sakho could possibly be off until the end of the season. Trouble for Sakho started with his constant injuries with a drugs related ban that had him miss the Euros and subsequently there were reports of behavioral issues that led to him being ignored. Whatever that past may have been, lets hope that the Frenchman can get his career back on track soon.
